another thing we all have in common is that we are seeking to bring wholeness and restoration in this life. As the church we are called to bring it in this life and point everyone to the One who brings healing, hope and restoration in this life but perfects it in the life to come. That is the true message of Hope.

CONSIDERING THIS TEXT: 7Train yourself in godliness, 8 for, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 9The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance. 10 For to this end we toil and struggle, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:7b-10.

WITH THIS ONE: 28 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

AND THIS ONE: 34 "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. Matthew 25:34-36

Great Blog Brian!

What a very difficult task ahead of you. I remember thinking some of the similar thoughts you are facing when I traveled to Cairo back in 2009. I couldn’t believe how urbanized and crowded the city was and I’m sure that’s nothing compared to India. I remember at night staying up till about 3 in the morning just humbling myself trying to understand a world that I had no way of understanding in just a few days.

Anyways I hope you can find some answers to share back with us when you guys get back. Lots of prayers from Phoenix!

Hey Shari - thanks for the comment; that 5th grade class will always have a special place in my heart as well. I was the "just-getting-to-know-how-to-be-a-pastor" guy and having families like yours to work with was a blessing. Say hello to everyone and, yes, please do feel free to repost.
