thankful

This post is trite, cliche, and certainly is nothing unique…this time of year.  But, reflecting on those things and people we are thankful for is good for the soul. So, here goes.

I’m thankful for:

  • an amazing wife and three healthy, funloving kids
  • november in PHX
  • a good cigar (a new ‘vice’ of mine)
  • a kansas state win (for the few we received this year!)
  • a church that loves and serves like no body’s business
  • a staff that puts up with me
  • our super supportive family back in the denver and kc areas
  • hardwood floors (saves you a bunch on resolve carpet cleaner)
  • espresso (did it really take me this long to list espresso?)
  • etc…………………

And, finally, I am thankful for a God that craves a personal relationship with us so much that He would become man, live among us, and die so that we might capture the life we were created to live. The Giver of life cannot be thanked enough; Jesus is the ultimate reason to give thanks.

Dinosaur tippers speak and show their thanks. How about you? What are you thankful for?

    I’m thankful for:

~ The most amazing wife a man could ask for.
    ~ My 3 wonderful children.
~ You, Bob, Jordan, Bruss, Rhett, Sprad, Stephen, and the rest of the Godly men He has put in front of me to speak into my life.
~ Every breath, every heartbeat I have.
~ My family, their love and support.
    ~ Every single SWITCH kid.
~ Everything God has done in my life, the good AND the bad.

But most of all I’m thankful that He has allowed me to realize how truly blessed my life is.

I am thankful for so many things that I just can’t see listing them all here, but I’ll list a few.

    I’m Thankful for:
Finding the only True and Living God, the One who had always known where I was.
Gods mercy as well as His justice in and on my life.
    My beautiful wife Crystal.
God bringing Crystal and I to the place of understanding that He is enthralled by her beauty.
My three young warriors. Caleb, Benjamin, and Asher.
All God is doing in the Earth through the only true church.

    Ect.

Because my mother is Canadian…I get to be thankful this time of year twice! Canadians celebrate their Thanksgiving in October…which is a better idea IMHO…gives you some wiggle room before Christmas!
    Ahyhow…
This blog reminds me of the importance of confessing publically what God has done…is doing and will do in my life…and in that…constructing a spiritual memorial using invisible ‘spiritual stones’ if you will, to the glory and honor of God…
These stones of thankfulness would look like this in my life:

*The miracle of God’s regenerative Spirit @ work in every area of my life…even when I don’t feel it.
*The undeserved grace of God…because my life is full of mistakes, errors and personal failures.
*The support of others who are walking their journey with Jesus in new and unconventional ways.
*The gift and privilage of being born in a FREE county…
*The gift of having all my basic needs readily supplied
*The gift of having my eyes opened to the poor, oppressed and suffering in the world
*The gift of being given more than enough to share with others
    * Kids who challange me, stretch me and grow me
*A husband who supports me in my endeavors, honors me, defends me and admires me for the woman I am
….last but not least coffee…Shiraz and dark chocolate…all things women over 40 are forever thankful for!

    All of God’s blessings…

I’m thankful for a good job today!

I’m thankful for my family, my amazing children and my talented wife without whom I would be lost.

I’m thankful for the wisdom of catering on Thanksgiving. I’m going to sleep in, watch the parade with my children, probably play a board game which they LOVE, and wait for our gourmet dinner to arrive for a FRACTION of what I would have paid to do it myself. For the peace of mind going into the holiday, I’m sooo thankful.

There are many things I am thankful for … here are just a few – not in any particular order:
My daughter, Natasha, she is my comfort and joy, and her love, strength, and smiles are her greatest gifts (she also has many talents) – I know I am Mom – but she is so easy to love xoxox.
My boy, Kevin, the surprises keep coming, but no matter what he does, I will always love him.
JB – still hanging in there with me.
A close friend, who I will keep anonymous – said something to me – that saved my life – his words will always stay with me. The same year, Natasha asked to go to church – we visited a small Church – and Rena J. took me under her wing. It was her teaching and guidance that lead to me excepting Jesus in my heart.
Having the opportunities to serve and learn from the young and old, homeless and those who are rich – not rich financial but spiritually.
Don, Amy, Tom, TJ, Kristi, Mike, Julie, and Tim, they had helped me become stronger in my faith. (pssss — Amy has even given me challenges :) luv ya Amy!)
    God’s forgiveness and blessings.
