The day we moved into our new house in Phoenix, we were introduced to some new friends. Well, maybe not exactly friends since we had just met them. But, the first morning in our new home there they were, standing in our kitchen: 2 gargantuan cockroaches! What I didn’t realize when I moved to Phoenix was that not having a winter means things don’t freeze which means they get really big. I freaked out, killed them as quickly as I could and drove to Lowe’s in search of enough chemicals to kill every cockroach within 10 miles of the house. Sometimes we must kill cockroaches!
But, unless we are an exterminator, then we should probably move onto other things. In his crafty leadership book, Killing Cockroaches, Tony Morgan teaches leaders lessons about focusing on the ideas and challenges that will propel our organizations into the future instead focusing on the minutia that begs for our attention everyday. With insights from leaders like Andy Stanley, Craig Groeschel, Guy Kawasaki and more, Morgan draws on his own experiences and expertise and weaves together leadership nuggets from a variety of interesting angels. This is a perfect book for those functional ADD -types out there looking for quick-hitting practical information on topics ranging from marketing to hiring and all points in between. If you are looking for fresh perspectives from a guy on the cutting edge of leadership in the church, then pickup Killing Cockroaches today.
