About

brian, gina, faith (8), elijah (6) and isabella (3)

About me: Beside Jesus and my family, I’m most passionate about the church, culture, espresso and the power of words. I am a part of leading the start of a new church in downtown phoenix arizona called “day|twelve church.” I routinely carve out time to spend time with my wife and kids, read, work out and write. Occasionally, I find time to golf and when I do I typically find that most people are “having a bad day.”  (They normally hit it straight, I guess.)

About this blog: mainly I write about my aforementioned passions. While I do think there is “absolute truth” when it comes to things like coffee (for instance, Folgers is NOT coffee), I try to treat subjective matters with softer opinions. When it comes to things like the church, I’ll let the Bible define the terms because its historical accuracy is hard to argue with and I happen to believe it contains the inspired words of God. When culture attempts to define a word like church, things get muddy quickly. Often [sic] needs to appear after the word “church” because for far too long it’s a word that has had an incorrect or inaccurate meaning assigned to it. So, if you notice [sic] often on this site, you now know why.

Thanks for reading and commenting.
